Gay Marriage

I have recently been thinking about the topic of Gay Marriage and I have realized that people opposed to Gay Marriage have taken away basic human rights of gay people to live their lives the way that they want. They may say that giving gays the right to marry disrupts the basic meaning of "marriage," but isn't marriage intended for two people who truly love each other to create a union financially and emotionally through a ring on their finger? This meaning of marriage does not depend on the sex of the two people, it only matters if the two truly love each other and are willing to create a committed relationship.
The people opposed to Gay Marriage also do not take into consider the gay's views. If everyone around them is getting the rights to marry just because they are the opposite sex, then why are they not able to marry? Are they not capable of love or committed relationships because of their sexual preferences? Are they not able to raise children together because the child will not have a stereotypical "Mother and Father" parents? The inequalities that society has given to homosexual people in the United States need to be disregarded because these people are forgetting that this is a "Free Country" and they should be able to marry who they want if they are in love.
