Gender Neutral Pre-Schools and Housing

Gender neutrality is extensively being practiced in nurseries and pre-schools and kindergartens in some parts of the world for the new generation to emerge free from the thoughts that already exist in the minds of todays’ people. It purges the entire idea of identification based on sex and gender and give’s each individual the opportunity to view life and the world from his or her own perspective without any pressure from society. It also enables them to have their own identity and not have a pre-determined identity that pre-exists in society today due to the fixed views of people.                                                                               There is a pre-school in Sweden called Egalia that is gender-neutral. The teachers avoid using the pronouns “him” and “her’ and instead refer to the children as “friends”, by their first names, or as “hen”- which is considered to be a genderless pronoun. Parents often force their children to play with masculine or feminine toys based on the gender of the child however, at Egalia, the boys are free to dress up and play with dolls and the girls are free to play with tractors and action figures. The children are given a wider choice and are given the freedom to choose what they want to be later in life from their own perspective from a young age itself to promote equality and gender neutrality and they are not limited to social expectations based on gender.Institutions like these help people achieve their goals in life irrespective of sex and gender.
Gender neutral housing is  also being practiced in Yale University. The Yale College Council asserted that gender neutral suites foster a more comfortable social environment and incentivize students to remain on campus. The proposal cites positive feedback from students who have participated in gender neutral housing and is a step towards removing sex and gender discrimination in the world.
